2024 December Open Chess Tournament

SLCA's 4th annual Open Chess Tournament was a huge success! Held at the Burlington's Haber Recreational
Center, highschoolers from across
the Halton and Peel regions came to have fun and bond over their shared love of chess.
The rounds were played using rapid timings, with 3 blitz rounds at the end to excite everyone.

2024 Halton Chess Championship

2024 HCC was a blast! Chess clubs from all over Halton convened at the Milton Mall, and there was some fierce
competition.
After 3 hours of chess teams dueling it out, the 2 teams left were Abbey Park High School and, reigning champ,
White Oaks Secondary School.
After a highly anticipated battle between the 2 teams, APHS claimed victorous, stealing the title from WOSS
and achieving
their first win in Ontario SLCA!
The only question that remains... will WOSS take back their title? Or will a new competitor emerge?
